How to Add PayPal Subscription Agreement as a Payment Method

PayPal is a popular payment method. In this guide, we set up a PayPal Subscription Agreement, which allows your customer for recurring payments.

You will require:

  1. A PayPal account
  2. An Upmind account

Getting API credentials from PayPal

  1. Log in to your PayPal Business Account.
  2. Go to 'Developer' section on the top right.
  3. Click Apps and Credentials.
  4. Click Create App or if you've already created one, the Client ID and Secret should be displayed.

Adding a payment provider

In Upmind, navigate to Settings>Payment providers. Then click Add payment provider.

Choose PayPal Subscription Agreement.

Adding details

Scroll down the page and add details.

  1. Enter a display name. We suggest PayPal.
  2. Click the Test Mode field and select No.
  3. Enter the account information (Client ID and Secret).
  4. Click the Test Credentials button to verify your account.
  5. Add currencies (optional).
  6. Enter payment instructions. (optional)
  7. Click Create.

Editing the payment method

You can change or update the payment method. Go to the Payment Providers page, click the three dots, and select Edit.
