How to Add BitPay as a Payment Method

BitPay is a payment service provider specializing in cryptocurrency payments. It allows businesses to accept payments in various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and stablecoins, among others.

Getting credentials

Before adding BitPay as a payment gateway, log in to your BitPay account to obtain the API Key. We support their new API method, which means you must generate a pairing key and send that as the first API token. BitPay will then generate an updated API key for you to use.

Adding a payment provider

Go to Settings > Payment providers in your admin area. Then click Add payment provider and choose BitPay.

Adding details

Scroll down to the page and complete the necessary fields.

1. Enter a display name. We suggest Bitpay.
2. Click the Test Mode and select the option.
3. Enter the API Token which you have get it on your BitPay account.
4. You might Test Credentials and it will show Successful authentication!
5. Add currencies (optional).
6. Enter payment instructions. (optional)
7. Click Create.

Editing the payment method

You can change or update the payment method. Go to the Payment providers page, click the gear icon, and select Edit.
