How to Add Paypal Pro (REST) as a Payment Method
PayPal is a popular payment method. In this guide, we set up PayPal Pro (REST), which is still used by some users. Please note, that our current implementation of PayPal REST is based on the deprecated V1 version. We plan to update this in the near future.
You will require:
- A PayPal account
- An Upmind account
Note
Please make sure this feature is enabled on your PayPal account. You may need to contact PayPal or check their guide here
Getting API credentials from PayPal
- Log in to your PayPal Business Account.
- Go to 'Developer' section on the top right.
- Click
Apps and Credentials
. - Click
Create App
or if you've already created one, the Client ID and Secret should be displayed.

Adding a payment provider
In Upmind, navigate to Settings
>Payment providers
. Then click Add payment provider
.
Choose PayPal Pro (REST)
.

Adding details
Scroll down the page and add details.
- Enter a display name. We suggest PayPal.
- Click the Test Mode field and select No.
- Enter the account information (Client ID and Secret).
- Click the Test Credentials button to verify your account.
- Add currencies (optional).
- Enter payment instructions. (optional)
- Click Create.
Editing the payment method
You can change or update the payment method. Go to the Payment Providers page, click the three dots, and select Edit.
